Today I’m sharing a set of color cards that will help your preschooler match colors.

How is your toddler or preschooler doing at learning those colors? Sometimes it helps to try a matching game. I created these simple clip cards to give your preschooler the opportunity to match colors and get some fine motor practice in at the same time.

What you need:

  • Color cards (download the end of this post)
  • Clipping clothespins (get them here)

I recommend printing the cards on cardstock, laminating, and cutting them apart.

Have your little learner name the color of the picture at the top and then clip the picture at the bottom of the same color.

My preschooler knows her colors quite well, but she didn’t remember the color gray.

Grabbing those clothespins is a bit tricky at first! After a few tries my Three started grabbing the pins on the pinching side without having to flip them around.

And there you have it! A simple color matching activity with some finger strengthening thrown in.

Hello. I am in need of desperate help. My grandson is 5. Non verbal. Autistic. Receives speech therapy once a week. My daughter as well as myself need tools to assist him to communicate. Any resource ideas are much appreciated.

I work with nonverbal children with ASD. The first thing I do is implement the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). I have had awesome success using this system. It teaches a function for language something critical for the children to learn. You can google PECS and find all the information on how to teach it as well as resources.

Hi! I’m sorry – I don’t share this sort of information on my site. You might want to check at some blog’s that share preschool content exclusively:
