We’re celebrating at our house because my blog has hit its first major milestone — 1,000,000 pageviews! I feel very blessed and grateful that all of you have helped me reach this goal, and as a thank you I’m hosting a free home laminator giveaway. This seemed pretty fitting considering that I’m always asking you to laminate my free printables! But first – take a look at what you can find at The Measured Mom.
Here’s my menu bar. You’ll find most of what you’re looking for under the “Teaching Resources” tab. It’s here that I organize my posts by subject area — and today I’m going to take you through the many free resources it will help you find.
I get asked a lot about teaching the alphabet. Since I provide a big array of resources for each letter (crafts, fine motor, sensory play, a book list, math connections, and free printables), it takes us a while to get through each letter! These are the letters we’ve done so far. I hope to have the entire alphabet complete during the summer of 2014. Check out my Alphabet page here.
For each letter of the alphabet, I share a free printable for decorating the letter with stickers, Do-a-dot markers, magnets, or even snack food. View my entire dot sticker page collection here.
Have you seen my free letter books? It’s something you’ll find with each letter of the alphabet as we complete it. Get all of my finished books here.
I love finding lists of our favorite books for each letter and sharing them as we move through the alphabet. Find my letter of the week book lists here. And scroll down the page for more book lists arranged by theme.
Here’s a screen shot of my Teaching Handwriting page. You’ll find links to all three sets of handwriting worksheets I’ve created — even though we haven’t completed our Letter of the Week, each uppercase letter is available for the first two sets, and I’m working on finishing the final set.
I’ve said that I share math activities for each letter of the alphabet. You can find them all organized by skill on my Teaching Math page. When you click on one of the skills, you’ll find something like this:
The activities are organized by grade level – and you’ll also see if I share a free printable (or link to one on another blog) for each activity.
I share many resources on my Teaching Reading page, including links to my collection of free emergent readers. Currently you can find 40 individual books organized by theme (transportation, community helpers, fairy tales, etc.) – and the list keeps growing!
Also on the Teaching Reading page you’ll find links to all my word family printables, including these short a word family houses. By the end of January I hope to share word family houses for all the short vowels – as well as my Read ‘n Stick mats. There’s more, too – check out Teaching Reading!
On my Teaching Spelling page I share links to all five parts of my series on Word Study. I am also (slowly but surely!) sharing free lessons for teaching spelling. Along with that you can find free printable spelling games- many of which you can use with any word list.
On my Teaching Writing page I share links to each of the 12 simple writing lessons that This Reading Mama and I shared for first and second graders. (Stay tuned – in the spring of 2014 we hope to share a series for preschool and kindergarten!)
On my Teaching Writing page you’ll also find related links: how to get kids to love writing, how to teach preschoolers to write, and a link to one of my most popular printables: free spelling dictionaries for kids.
Are you ready for the giveaway now?
I’d love for you to enter for a chance to win a free Scotch Thermal Laminator Combo Pack – which includes the laminator and 20 laminating sheets. It’s my way of thanking you for the attention and support you’ve given my blog over the past ten months.
I’m so grateful for the many readers I have around the world – you can’t know how much fun it is to hear from you in the Comments section, on Facebook, and in your personal e-mails! Unfortunately, however, I’m only able to offer this giveaway to US residents.
