It’s time for another set of free sight word books! This week’s set is a collection of free arctic emergent readers.

Did you know you can find hundreds of free printable books right on this website? My most popular collection is my set of Sight Word Books. In fact, the main page for those books has been visited over 400,000 times.
I remember when I first began creating them – almost three years ago – that they didn’t receive much attention. I was bummed because I knew so many kids could benefit from them. It’s just plain hard to find early reader books that beginning readers can actually read, and even harder to find them free to download.
Thankfully, you’ve discovered these, and I’m grateful! I love creating and sharing them… and now we’re on set 37! Yay! (For you curious types, I’m planning to make a total of 56 sets.)
I started creating these books to use alongside This Reading Mama’s fabulous preschool reading curriculum. Together, the books and Reading the Alphabet did wonders for my older two boys. They both entered kindergarten reading fluently.
My youngest son is just getting ready to start Reading the Alphabet, so he won’t be ready for these more advanced books for quite some time. But I hope you know a little reader who’ll enjoy them!
This new set features three new sight words where, here, and find.
As always, kids can use picture clues for the harder words, like walrus.
While each book is created to fit a particular theme, you can see that it doesn’t really tell a story. That kind of thing is hard to do when you’re using limited vocabulary (not to mentioned limited by the clip art set – ’cause one thing I don’t do is draw).
These books gives lots of practice with previously learned sight words: can, you, the, it, is, and are all review words.
Some words your child can figure out with phonics skills he’s learned through my set of free phonics books. Likes is a word to sound out.
We hope you enjoy this new set!
How to assemble:
(for a video tutorial, see this page)
- Cut across the horizontal center of each page.
- Insert one set of pages into the other, paying attention to the page numbers.
- Staple with a long-armed stapler.
