Are your kids as interested in storms as mine are? I don’t know how many times my kids have asked about tornadoes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
I figure mine aren’t the only kids who are fascinated by storms. So it made sense to include a set of extreme weather emergent readers in our weather theme.
Today I’m sharing three books for free!
You’ll notice that the pictures are the same for each book in the set. But each set varies in difficulty – making it perfect for differentiation!
Here’s the first book:
An ice storm.
The second book adds a few more words.
Oh no! It is a blizzard!
Oh no! It is a flood!
Oh no! It is a hurricane!
Oh no! It is an ice storm!
Oh no! It is a tornado!
Finally, the Level 3 book challenges your child to read two words per page and use context clues to figure out new words.
Look at all the snow! It is a blizzard.
Look at all the water! It is a flood.
Look at all the wind! It is a hurricane.
Look at all the ice! It is an ice storm.
Look at all the mess! It is a tornado.
Like all my Color Me Readers, this set of books is in black and white so kids can enjoying reading and coloring them.
These books are perfect to read alongside your weather theme! We hope you enjoy them.
Do you have the complete weather theme yet?
It’s got loads of variety and countless ways to meet the needs of all your learners.
