Today I’m sharing a set of free, no prep games for short o words.
I’ve been teaching my Five to read using short vowel word families. Now that we’ve done a variety of activities for short a, we’re moving on to short o. We hope you can today’s quick freebie!
Free games for reading short o words
Simply take turns rolling the die and reading the words in the corresponding column.
The first five games have rhyming words in each column – making them easier than the last two games in the download.
This game asks your child to read nine words each time he rolls the die. Other games include words beginning with blends and digraphs.
This game is a tougher one since all the word families are mixed up.
Simply roll and read as many times as you’d like.
We hope your learners enjoy this quick, simple way to reinforce those phonics skills without flash cards!
