Today I’m sharing another free letter book!

This free book of letter U songs and rhymes is part of a giant letter book collection!

Free letter book – songs and rhymes for letter U

(This post contains affiliate links.)

We’re almost done sharing our entire collection of  little letter books!  Today I’m sharing rhymes and songs for letter U.

When you print and assemble the little book, your child will have six songs and rhymes to listen to.  My now four-year-old started to learn his alphabet by listening to these books over and over when he was 2 1/2.   His younger brother is now the same age.  I need to print another set!

Here are the songs and rhymes in the Little Letter U Book:

Up the Hill

Here goes a turtle up a hill –
Creepy creepy, creepy, creepy.
Here goes a rabbit up a hill –
Boing, boing, boing, boing!
Here goes an elphant up a hill –
Thud, thud, thud, thud!
Here goes a snake up a hill –
Slither, slither, slither, slither…
And here comes a rock down the hill
Boom, boom, boom, boom,
CRASH!

Up and Down the County Road

(sing to the tune of “Pop Goes the Weasel”)

Up and down the country road
In and out the eagle.
That’s the way the money goes,
POP goes the weasel!

The People on the Bus

(sing to the tune of “The Wheels on the Bus”

The people on the bus go up and down,
Up and down, up and down.
The people on the bus go up and down,
All through the town.

Up to the Ceiling

Up to the ceiling,
Down to the ground.
Backward and forward,
Round and round.
Dance, little baby,
And mother will sing
With the merry chorus,
Ding a ding ding!

The Lion and the Unicorn

The lion and the unicorn
Were fighting for the crown.
The lion beat the unicorn
All around the town.
Some gave them white bread,
And some gave them brown;
Some gave them plum cake
And drummed them out of town.

Up, up, up

Here we go up, up, up.
Here we go, down, down, down.
Here we go, backwards and forwards.
And here we go round, round, round.

To assemble a Little Letter Book:

  • Print the document in color (if you desire) on cardstock.  Be sure to print pages 2-3  front to back (page 1 is my Terms of Use). You will need only one piece of paper.
  • Cut an even line across the center of the page.
  • Fold the two sheets to make a book. Make sure the cover is in front, and insert the other page inside.
  • Staple with a long arm stapler.

I hope your preschooler enjoys these! We’ve found them a great way to learn the popular nursery rhymes and songs (plus a few that aren’t as well known). Soon we’ll have the whole set done – can’t wait!
