Phonics books for ea, oa, ow, and ie words

This post contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Today I’m sharing another set of free phonics readers!  Your child will get practice reading ea, oa, ow, and ie words.

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

(This post contains affiliate links.)

Can you believe we’re already on set 10 of my phonics readers?

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

This set has seven books: Two for oa words, one for ie words, three for ea words, and 1 for ow words (as in snow).

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

Each book starts like this.

The sentences are very simple so that children can focus on the new phonics pattern.

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

Not only will your child have practice reading sight words he’s already learned through my sight word reader collection, he’ll also practice words from other phonics book sets.  This page reviews the silent e pattern with the word cake.

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

The books are not actual stories; they are a collection of unrelated sentences featuring words with the same phonics pattern.   Could you accomplish the same thing with flash cards?

Maybe.

Personally, I’ve found that a child’s interest level goes way up when you put the reading practice into a book!

These printable phonics books teach oa words, ie words, ea words, and ow words.

This book features a new sight word, of.  (After I finish my phonics reader collection, I’ll catch up on those sight word books!)

The last page gives your child the chance to read all the words again.

Have fun reading!

How to assemble:

  • Print pages 2-29 front to back (page 1 is my Terms of Use).  I like to use light cardstock to make the books durable.
  • Separate the stack into each individual book.  Each book consists of two pages front to back.
  • Cut across the horizontal center of the pages.
  • Insert the pages into each other, using the page numbers as a guide.
  • Staple with a long arm stapler.

For a picture tutorial to help you put the books together, visit this post.

Thanks so much for this. I recently decided that I will be doing a 2-year plan for 1st grade for my daughter. This will help for extra review. I appreciate all the work you did! I like especially how you have to read the word on one page and then see it in a sentence on the other.

I absolutely love your phonics books! They have become such a core part of my guided reading groups. The kids love the pictures and sentences and it is great fluency and phonics skill review to have the word first, then use the word in a sentence. Thank you thank you for making this a free usable research for my kiddos! They are definitely benefiting from you!

I’m trying to get a free sample of the Vowel Team “EA” and this website is very hard to get around. It also lures you into purchasing something before getting the free booklet. To me, this isn’t free.

No, it doesn’t lure you into it … it just gives you a special offer. The freebie comes in your email. If you don’t see it, please check your spam, promotion, and trash folders.
