Worksheets for short o words

Today I’m sharing a printable pack of short o worksheets!

I’ve been teaching my Five to sound out words with a variety of hands-on games and printables.

Have you seen our activities?

  • Short o word family houses
  • Short o word slider cards
  • Short o word family mats
  • Short o four-in-a-row games
  • Short o roll & read games

We don’t want to overdo the worksheets. But after all of this hands-on learning it’s okay to pull out a few!

Short o worksheet pack

This was a good page to start with because it’s his favorite. (Sorry for the dark pictures! We had to do these in the early evening when my One was – miraculously – not fussy.)

He appreciated how quickly he could do this page. Before he began sorting and gluing, we named all the pictures together.

Truth! My little guy fought me on this one. I’m not entirely sure why – he can read almost all of these words without trouble. But man, he was grumpy.

I mention this as a reminder that you shouldn’t do the entire worksheet pack with your learners. Some of the pages just won’t be a good fit.

This one felt easier. Just one word at a time – whew!

I like to do just one worksheet from each pack that requires my Five to write words. We do very little handwriting practice at home, and I don’t want him to get shocked when kindergarten begins. 😉

Get a total of nine worksheets in the bundle!

Hello, Salam! I’m not sure which worksheets you’re referring to. I don’t create or recommend worksheets for 1-year-olds.

    Hi Anna,
I have used your vowel phonics readers for the last few years for my kids when they are in preschool- but I have searched high and low for a short O vowel phonics reader, and I cannot find it, perhaps it doesn’t exist?? I’ve printed out a, e, i, and found u, and several other vowel blends, but no O! :/// I love your readers and consistency, can you point me to where they are if they exist? Thanks so much!!!!!
