Enjoy this newest addition to our emergent reader collection: Valentine’s Day sight word books!

We’re just a few days away from Valentine’s Day, so I’m sharing another set of emergent readers – this time with a Valentine theme.
But your beginning reader will enjoy this fun set of books any time of the year!
Set 38 teaches the words pretty, make, and too.
Each time I share a new set, I highlight one of the books. This week I’m going to share my favorite book of the set. It’s all about Valentine’s desserts.
I have to live vicariously through this little book because I’m trying to lay off the sweets right now.
That’s because I have (ahem) pounds of baby weight to lose after baby #6. Okay, let’s be honest – I still have a few pounds left from baby #5, too. This is what happens when you have two big babies in a row (11 lb 12 oz and 10 lb 12 oz).
But you’re here for free books, not my weight loss saga.
Let’s take a peek!
You’ll notice that the sight words appear in the books, but not all three words appear in each book. I want children to learn the words without forcing them where they don’t belong. Your child will also be able to read previously learned sight words, use picture and context clues to figure out unknown words, and read phonetic words using phonics skills he’s learning in my free set of phonics books.
I’m keeping this short and sweet (ha, ha, get it?) because – like I said – we just had baby. And I need my sleep. That may be a little too obvious.
How to assemble:
(for a video tutorial, see this page)
- Cut across the horizontal center of each page.
- Insert one set of pages into the other, paying attention to the page numbers.
- Staple with a long-armed stapler.
Did you know that you can get my first 26 sets of sight word books BUNDLED for easy downloading? It’s a pack of 106 printable books for one low price! So easy to download and print!
