Today I’m sharing a favorite rhyme for kids: Here is the Beehive. My kids have loved this one since they were little.
This is the last in a series of free finger puppets that I’m sharing with Malia of Playdough to Plato. Today’s rhyme is a favorite at our house because it ends with a tickle! Here is the Beehive is simple, quick, and fun.
Pop on these finger puppets and say the rhyme to your baby, toddler, or preschooler. Your little one might like to put the puppets on his own fingers and act out the rhyme himself.
Start with all your fingers bent. Then lift each finger as you count.
Lyrics for “Here is the Beehive”
Here is the beehive.
Where are the bees?
Hiding inside, where no one can see.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5… they’re alive!
Bzzzzzzz (tickle!)

Here’s my quick amateur video so you can see the rhyme in action. You can see how this rhyme is great for teaching beginning counting.
Thanks
The Bee printable says “elephant” everywhere instead of bee.

Sorry about that! I’m sorry that I don’t have time to make the edit to this freebie at this time.

Thank you for the bee printables.
I learnt a slightly different rhyme when I was growing up.
Here is the bee hive.
Where are the bees?
Hiding inside where nobody sees
Watch them come creeping, out of the hive
1,2,3,4,5!
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
