Just the other day my Three got out his stack of letter books and asked me to read and sing all of them. His younger brother, who recently had his second birthday, showed great interest. As my Three (almost Four) grows out of our books of songs and rhymes, I know I need to print a new set just for my Two.
Because even though he’s more interested in other books now, my Three isn’t giving them up.

Zoom, zoom, zoom,
We’ll be there very soon.
So if you’d like to take a trip
Just step inside my rocket ship.
Zoom, zoom, zoom,
We’re going to the moon.
Zoom, zoom, zoom,
We’ll be there very soon.

Z is for Zipper (to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”)
Zipper starts with letter Z,
Letter Z, letter Z,
Zipper starts with Letter Z,
/z/, /z/, /z/, /z/!
Z is for Zookeeper (to the tune of “Do You Know the Muffin Man?”)
Oh do you know the zookeeper,
The zookeeper, the zookeeper?
Oh, do you know the zookeeper
Who works down at the zoo?
Z is for Zaccheus (for the tune, click here)
Zaccheus was a wee little man,
And a wee little man was he.
He climbed up in a sycamore tree
For the Lord he wanted to see.
And when the Savior passed that way
He looked up in the tree.
And he said, “Zaccheus, you come down!
For I’m going to your house today!
For I’m going to your house today!”
Zaccheus was a wee little man,
But a happy man was he.
For he had seen the Lord that day,
And a happy man was he.
And a very happy man was he!
Z is for Zoo (to the tune of the Wheels on the Bus)… from perpetual preschool.com
Oh, the bear at the zoo goes
Grr, grr, grr,
Grr, grr, grr.
Oh, the bear at the zoo goes
Grr, grr, grr,
All day long.
Monkey at the zoo… ooo, ooo, ooo
Snake at the zoo…. hiss, hiss, hiss
Lion at the zoo….raar, raar, raar …etc.
Z is in Fuzzy Wuzzy
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear.
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair.
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn’t fuzzy,
Was he?
To assemble a Little Letter Book:
- Print the document in color (if you desire) on cardstock. Be sure to print pages 2-3 front to back (page 1 is my Terms of Use). You will need only one piece of paper.
- Cut an even line across the center of the page.
- Fold the two sheets to make a book. Make sure the cover is in front, and insert the other page inside.
- Staple with a long arm stapler.

Thank you so much for these songs! As a preschool teacher I have used several of your resources. I retired this year and I am saving these songs to use with my granddaughter.
