We love our letter  books!  My Three sits on the couch while I read book after book, and my One sits on the floor listening with wide eyes (when he’s not doing something else, that is :)).  Here’s a collection of rhymes for letter K.

Print this free mini-book for six rhymes for letter K!

Rhymes for Letter K: Free printable mini-book

Here are the rhymes, songs, and familiar verses you’ll found in the Little Letter K book:

K is for King Cole

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,
And a merry old soul was he.
He called for his pipe
And he called for his bowl.
And he called for his fiddlers three.
Every fiddler had a fine fiddle
And a very fine fiddle had he.
Twee tweedle dee tweedle dee
Went the fiddlers
Twiddle dum dee deedle dee dee.

K is for Kittens

The three little kittens,
they lost their mittens,
and they began to cry,
“Oh mother dear, we sadly fear
That we have lost our mittens.”
“What! Lost your mittens —
you naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie.”
“Meow, meow, meow!
Now we shall have no pie.”

K is for Kookaburra (for the tune, click here)

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry, merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, kookaburra,
Happy your life must be!

K is for Kangaroo (from preschooleducation.com)

The brown kangaroo is very funny.
She leaps and runs and hops like a bunny.
And on her stomach is a pocket so wide
Her baby can jump in and go for a ride.

 K is for Kangaroo

Jump, jump, jump
Goes the kangaroo.
I thought only one–
But now I see two!
Mommy and her baby
With his head popping out;
He holds on tight
As they jump all about!

K is for Kettle

Polly, put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
We’ll all have tea.

How to assemble my Little Letter Books:

  • Print the document in color (if you desire) on cardstock.  Be sure to print pages 2-3 front to back (page 1 is my Terms of Use). You will need only one piece of paper.
  • Cut an even line across the center of the page.
  • Fold the two sheets to make a book. Make sure the cover is in front, and insert the other page inside.
  • Staple with a long arm stapler.
