Is there a way to find just pre-k materials, going into kindergarten? I’m not really sure what they are supposed to be practicing besides sight words, reading, maybe adding/subtracting(?), and 3D shapes. Thanks!

As a former math teacher turned pre-k teacher I love this article. I would love to share this with every parent of students that I tutor. I have told parents the exact same thing you said in the article, it is the big picture of what we want them to understand-to critically think through it, not just calculate it, to truly understand why they are completing each step. Thank you for explaining that to all the parents and teachers that follow you!
Anna G
Thank you so much, Rebecca! I really appreciate this feedback!

I agree with you entirely. Reducing the stress is so important. Ironically, I admire both you and Christina Tondeveld and her recovering traditionalist approach. As you know, she is stressing “STOP TEACHING!” right now. Games are really important, as is doing math around the house by baking and measuring, etc. Thanks for your insights. Your stressing patience and understanding and putting yourself in the position of the student is really insightful. Thanks for this podcast and all of your efforts. You are appreciated.

Thank you so much for your kind comment, Tom! Christina is pretty amazing. 🙂 I heard her at a conference and was excited to learn more from her in her membership.
