Today I’m sharing a free sorting mat that will help you teach colors to toddlers.

How have your children learned their colors?  At our house, we read books about colors and do simple activities to help my kids notice and talk about color differences.  My Two knows nearly all of his colors, but I knew he would still enjoy this simple color sorting activity using our counting bears.

I gave him the bears and the counting mat, and he got right to work.

I have actually done very little organized learning activities with my 2 1/2 year old. Not because I wouldn’t like to, but because we’ve got a pretty busy house with five kids ages 7 and under.  This brief little activity showed me that I need to do more with him. He loved it!

Here he’s talking to himself and putting the bears in little rows.

So proud of himself!
