New! Simple Sight Word Books
I’ve recently created a new set of sight word books that teach the same 26 words as the first set – but in a much simpler format. This set is ideal for young learners, struggling learners, and English language learners. Each set of four books has four different themes. I’ll be releasing about one set a week over the next 6-9 months.
After creating the first 26 sets to use alongside Reading the Alphabet, I’ve had requests for more books. I’m creating additional sets. These later sets loosely correlate with my free phonics books. When I have a large collection, these will also be available for purchase in a bundle pack. For now you may download each set by clicking on the images below to get to the blog post.
I’ve shared over 130 books in my free phonics reader collection that are designed to be used alongside my sight word readers or separately. Each book introduces a new phonics pattern and gives practice with simple sentences and bright pictures.
Unlike my sight word books, these are black and white so children can color them. They do not get progressively harder with set. Instead, each set has three books – level 1, 2, and 3. These books are created to correlate with my preschool and kindergarten themes.
These packs of 40 printable cards are wonderful for teaching children that each word they say matches a word in print. Some children may be ready to learn beginning sight words from these cards as well. I recommend printing the cards, laminating, and cutting them apart to assemble on a metal ring.
I’ve begun sharing nonfiction emergent readers that have real photographs as images. These simple books are great for early readers in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. Each book I share is part of a much larger set that comes with my theme packs, which you may view in my store.
Each of my theme packs, which you can view in my store, contain a large variety of pocket chart sentences. I share a small set as a freebie from each theme pack. These are excellent for teaching concepts of print such as concept of word and left to right progression. They’re also great for teaching sight words!
