This is so good to hear. I was an early childhood educator for 4 years. I loved my job to pieces! I worked with children 18-36 months for 3 years and children 24 months to 7 years old for 1 year. Now I am a stay at home grandmother of 2. The oldest, I believe, has had a misdiagnosis of ADHD. I feel he gets lost in the school system a bit, and he struggles every day knowing he is behind and always saying he feels stupid. I am so incredibly happy knowing that someone is fighting for those children who have that struggle. In the past 2 years in Manitoba, I have watched the school system recieve pay cuts and hours and staff. So children that need the extra help, schools are still recieving funding for, but there are no EA’s to give them one on one help. It’s leaving these kids lost, frustrated, and in the end still way behind on the learning they need and deserve! I hope that I am also able to get enough information like this so I am able to teach them how to read and write and and say out loud what they know and learn.
